  • On Dec. 10, 2025, Linda Criss, the chief operating officer, led a tour of Akron Zoo that showed upgrades to exhibits, the construction of an animal hospital and the creation of a bat habitat.  Akron Beacon Journal

  • In 2025, over 400 Northeast Ohio restaurants closed while nearly 600 new eateries opened, giving local business owners tight margins and challenges; John Barker of the Ohio Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance said that although chains expanded, community spots struggled, and some operators may rebound in 2026 * if conditions allow.  News 5 Cleveland

  • Elena Bell and Linda Criss led a tour of updated penguin and snow leopard habitats at the Akron Zoo on Dec. 10, highlighting new concrete surfaces, fresh paint, and enhanced cleaning systems in the penguin exhibit.  Akron Beacon Journal
