ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Representatives from the National Science Foundation will visit Northeast Ohio late January to review Akron’s polymer cluster — which has received over $100 million in investment — as part of a bid for a $160 million grant. - ➤ Girls and young women aged 13 to 24 will join the MLK Female Youth Symposium: Comfortable in Your Skin on Jan. 17 at Buchtel Community Learning Center (free) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring breakfast, line dancing, community art and sessions on college, career pathways, and healthy dating. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday morning, a 36-inch water main break on Akron's west side sent discolored water to residents, although tests confirmed it was safe. Crews will repair the break — the city plans to replace over 11,000 ft of aging mains later this year. News 5 Cleveland
