- ➤ Eric Decker, 47, a senior VP at Portage Community Bank and active community volunteer, died Jan. 9 at Hillcrest Hospital from complications of pancreatic cancer. Local colleagues and community leaders remembered him as a devoted family man who brought humor and loyalty to his work and local causes. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ A water main broke on West Market Street in Akron on Wednesday, Jan. 21, forcing part of the street to close while crews worked to restore service. Akron Beacon Journal
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ After decades of entertaining locals, the owners of Funny Stop Comedy Club in Cuyahoga Falls announced plans to sell the business. The final show will be on Mar. 28 and a farewell event on Mar. 31 as they look for a new owner to continue the club’s legacy. News 5 Cleveland
- ➤ A free traveling photography exhibit called Nature Includes You opens at Akron-Summit County Public Library (60 S. High St) until the end of January, with more displays planned at local centers in coming months. The exhibit highlights the connection between people of color and nature in Northeast Ohio.
