- ➤ Akron Zoo is hosting Inclusion Days from Feb. 28 through Mar. 2 when guests who wear orange receive free admission. The event is held in partnership with Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board to honor National Developmental Disabilities Awareness month. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Students at Western Reserve Academy created the documentary Just and Perfect to revisit Frederick Douglass’ 1854 commencement address that challenged racial inequality. The film, made during Black History Month and featuring Kenneth B. Morris Jr. plus a reflection on history’s ongoing impact, invites viewers to connect past and present. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Akron Municipal Court will host a LEGO-themed wedding event on March 2 from noon to 1 p.m. at the new Bricks & Minifigs shop in Fairlawn; couples must schedule appointments and obtain a marriage license from Summit County Probate Court beforehand. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Akron postal workers will join the national Fight Like Hell rally today to push for better pay and safer conditions. Branches 148 and 196 of the National Association of Letter Carriers are meeting at 3 p.m. at 1655 W. Market St. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Mark Dente's former home on Weston Court in Copley Township sold for $710,000 during a record week of sales starting Jan. 5. The 7,831 sqft home built in 2000 was later expanded to add an indoor basketball court (a unique feature). Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Rachel Tecca reflected on the Akron Zips honoring her basketball jersey when the school raised her number to the rafters at Rhodes Arena on Feb. 21. She said the tribute marked a major moment in her career. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Hoban senior Rylee Jackson won the 50 and 100 freestyle titles at the Division I district meet in Cleveland and shared her thoughts on her victories. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Firestone’s George Marshall won the 200 and 500 freestyle races (Feb. 21) at the Division I Cleveland district meet and later shared his thoughts about the titles. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ CVCA junior Lucy Chaisson broke the long-held school record in the 50 freestyle on Feb. 20 at Cleveland State University's Busbey Natatorium by finishing in 24.81 seconds to secure a spot at the state meet.
