- ➤ Stricklands Ice Cream, a family-owned shop (in business since 1936), celebrates 90 years at its Triplett Boulevard stand by offering 90-cent cones on Friday. Fourth-generation manager (Jake Margroff) said the shop will keep using its vintage equipment and classic recipes. WKYC
- ➤ The Akron Zoo dedicated a new Guest Comfort Station on Mar. 2 and announced a Sensory Explorers program to help guests with sensory overload. The station, located inside the Komodo Kingdom Building, offers quiet seating plus adjustable lighting, while five sensory boxes launch this summer to share interactive animal facts. - ➤ Reports show that overnight, average regular gas prices in Ohio hit $3.00 (up from $2.81) on March 3 due to rising global oil costs amid tensions in Iran, and analysts expect prices to continue rising if the disruption persists. Akron Beacon Journal
