- ➤ A driver fired at Akron Police officers during a traffic stop in West Akron early Tuesday at 4 a.m. (he was in a rental car) and then sped away after shooting through his window, with an officer returning fire and no injuries reported as police plan to track down the suspect so he faces justice. - ➤ Akron police responded to a welfare check call on South Highland Avenue at 7:30 p.m.—they found a 26 year old man and a 44 year old woman with gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide and both were pronounced dead at the scene. News 5 Cleveland
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Akron Public Schools introduced a plan on Monday to cut $10.2 million from the budget—$5.8 million from workforce reductions and $4.4 million from operational costs—with unions to be notified on March 30 and affected employees on April 1. The proposal will be presented to the Board on April 14 and will be implemented the following day if approved. WKYC
