- ➤ Keep Akron Beautiful is hosting Clean Up Akron Month this April as part of the nation’s largest cleanup effort, with three community cleanups scheduled for April 11, April 25, and May 9 at different Akron locations. - ➤ Protesters gathered along Broad Blvd in Cuyahoga Falls on March 28, 2026 & demonstrated calls for liberty and an end to war. Participants used creative displays and impersonations to challenge traditional power structures. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ The AMATS report shows that the intersection of Rhodes Ave & West Thornton St in Akron had 26 crashes, including 15 injuries, from 2022 to 2024 even as overall accidents declined while serious injury crashes rose nearly 19% amid ongoing safety projects. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ On Saturday evening, Akron Fire Department put out a fire at 814 Ina Ct that displaced several families while the Red Cross assisted affected neighbors and the fire cause remained under investigation. Cleveland 19 News

- ➤ House Three Thirty hosted its free '330 Day' celebration on Saturday, March 28 (532 West Market Street) with live music, circus, art classes, and a debut mini market featuring local makers. - ➤ WRA Chief Innovation Officer Matt Gerber outlined plans for a future addition to the Wang Innovation Center that will boost innovation resources for students + staff. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Akron Public Schools earned a 3.5 star rating last month but now face funding shortfalls from outdated state contributions and voucher programs. Superintendent Mary Outley said the district is using phonics-based reading and high-dosage tutoring to boost early literacy. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ ODOT announced four short-term highway ramp closings for drainage repairs near Akron starting tonight through early Tuesday and a long-term closure of an I-77 south ramp beginning Monday (detours are available) that will last through mid-May and July 2028. - ➤ Summit County Public Health now offers certified copies of Ohio birth and death certificates for $22 each (orders available at 1867 W. Market St., Akron, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), with processing taking less than 10 minutes. Akron Beacon Journal
