- ➤ Summit County offers three Adventure Trails that let residents visit local craft breweries, coffee shops and vintage stores. Visitors can use a physical or digital passport to track stops on the Brew Path—17 stops to complete by Nov. 30—the Drip Drive with 23 coffee shops available until Dec. 12 and the Treasure Trail for vintage finds. - ➤ Akron City Council approved a $798.6 million operating budget on Monday, March 31 that focuses on public safety, youth services and community well-being. The budget provides funds for EMS equipment upgrades—such as $1 million to replace cardiac monitors—and boosts support for after-school programs and police oversight staffing. Signal Akron

- ➤ Cargill Kitchen Solutions (Lake Odessa, Michigan) recalled over 200,000 pounds of Egg Beaters and Bob Evans Better'n Eggs liquid egg substitutes due to possible contamination from a cleaning solution containing sodium hypochlorite. The affected products with expiration dates in 2025 and 2026 were sent to distributors in Ohio, Texas and other states, and no illnesses have been reported. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Local Copley High School graduate Izzy Callaway announced she is transferring from Walsh University to play for Akron's women's basketball team in the 2025-26 season. - ➤ After trading Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a fifth-round pick for quarterback Kenny Pickett on the first day of free agency, the Browns said that Pickett is their only healthy quarterback while Deshaun Watson remains in rehab after a second Achilles surgery. General manager Andrew Berry said the team will continue to build its quarterback room by exploring free agents and holding private workouts with rookies before finalizing plans at the draft.
