  • Akron Art Museum will host Kent Monkman’s History Is Painted by the Victors from April 11 through Aug. 17, featuring a free artist conversation on April 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Main Branch Auditorium) and an opening celebration later that evening.  Akron.com
  • Akron’s Lock 3 (partnering with Akron Civic Theatre) is launching its first summer programming wave featuring national touring artists from June 26 to Sept. 12; tickets are on sale online and at local venues, and a full lineup including local acts will be revealed April 15.  Akron.com

  • On April 2, Hudson Innovation Park on Hines Hill Road in Hudson earned the SiteOhio Authenticated designation from JobsOhio, making it the first shovel-ready site in Summit, Medina, and Portage counties (its 91-acre facility meets rigorous utility and construction standards).  Akron Beacon Journal

  • Kaitlin Booth was named deputy director of Akron-Summit County Public Library on March 30 to fill the vacancy left when Michelle Alleman became executive director. She advanced modern workflows as collection development coordinator.  Akron Beacon Journal

  • Trailhead Community Health Foundation is finalizing plans to award grants to local health nonprofits later this year or early next year. The foundation has expanded its team with key hires and set priorities to support health and wellness projects across the region.  Akron Beacon Journal
