CRIME NEWS

  • Akron police arrested 21-year-old James McNeil for his alleged role in a Friday night shooting near Park Lane Manor Apartments, where a fight escalated into gunfire that left a 34-year-old man with non life-threatening injuries — charges are being filed.  iHeartMedia
  • Antonio Miller, already serving 36 years to life for murder, was found guilty on Monday for aggravated drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession after a search of his Roslyn Avenue home revealed 1,380 grams of meth, 428 grams of fentanyl, an AK-47, and nearly $82,000 in cash—his conviction leads to a new sentence of 11 to 16.5 years.  Cleveland 19 News

  • Jason Miller, a local comics dealer who started collecting at age 5, co-owns Magic City Comics in Barberton and Rubber City Comics on Mill Street—he also hosts live sessions on Facebook to reach more customers.   • GasBuddy data from early Monday shows that drivers in Akron now pay an average of $3.15 per gallon after a 12.2 cent increase in the past week while drivers in Cleveland pay $3.13 per gallon. The report notes the national average is $3.21—up 10.6 cents yet 38.8 cents lower than a year ago.  WKYC
