- ➤ MGM Northfield Park Racino is now the Northfield Park Racino as Clairvest Group Inc. takes over and will close temporarily from April 20 to 22 for transition work; horse racing, scheduled shows and most restaurants will continue operating. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Hoppin' Frog Brewery celebrated its 20th anniversary in Akron on April 15 (now adding Sunday brunch) as it evolves from a traditional brewhouse to offer more dining options. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ The Springfield Local Schools Board ratified a revised collective bargaining agreement with the local teaching union on April 7, setting a three-year contract (Aug. 2025 to Aug. 2028) that replaces base raises with staggered stipends.
