- ➤ United Way of Summit & Medina realigned resources after a fundraising campaign fell below expectations and is cutting funding for some partners while investing in key services like Financial Empowerment Centers and Family Resource Centers that help local families. - ➤ On May 20, the ACCESS Shelter State of the Shelter Breakfast will be held at Quaker Station (135 S. Broadway) where director Grettel Jiménez-Singer of the National Women’s Shelter Network will speak about the shelter’s achievements and future needs for women and children facing homelessness in Summit County. - ➤ Starting Monday, April 21, the Ohio Department of Transportation will close lanes and ramps on I-76 and I-77 in Akron for pavement, bridge, and reconstruction work. Detours are in place for ramps — including those near Route 8 and the Central Interchange, and some nightly closures will continue through April 25. Akron Beacon Journal
