- ➤ Akron police arrested two men—Anthony D. Fields 54 and Kurth M. Conaway 34—on charges of abuse of a corpse after human remains identified as Xavier Menefee's were found in a homeless encampment on May 2. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Early Monday, a suspect in a stolen SUV repeatedly rammed a car and struck police cruisers near an apartment complex on Tate Terrace, causing a gas line rupture that led to an evacuation before he was pinned against a tree and arrested—31-year-old Mikal Gamble now faces charges including felonious assault and resisting arrest.
