ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Akron police reported that two men died in separate one-vehicle crashes on May 9 when one driver hit a light post on East Tallmadge Avenue and a 70-year-old driver struck a tree on East Market Street—investigations into both crashes continue.  Akron Beacon Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Akron Police said they are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Saturday night near Sand Run Metro Park when officers responded at 8 p.m. on the 1600 block of Cromwell Drive and found a 52-year-old man with critical injuries who died at a hospital—police said a suspect known to the victim fled the scene and the investigation is in its early stages.  Akron Beacon Journal

  • Buchtel CLC students are rehearsing for Frozen Jr.—the school’s first musical production since 1995.  Akron Beacon Journal
  • Akron Public Schools warned parents on May 9 at 6:15 p.m. about a TikTok trend in which students insert objects into Chromebooks — causing batteries to short-circuit, produce smoke, fire and injuries — and said that students involved may face disciplinary and legal action.
