- ➤ Goodyear Heights Metro Park’s main entrance (2077 Newton St.) will be closed from June 1 through Sept. 30 as the parking lot is resurfaced and curbs are replaced due to aging wear, so visitors must use alternate entrances to access the park. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Akron Public Schools will lose $44M over five years because House Bill 96 uses outdated 2022 cost estimates, forcing the district to use cash reserves even after passing a levy. Treasurer Steve Thompson said the district might face state financial oversight by 2027 and could need further cuts or a new levy—factors that may also affect plans for a new Kenmore school—adding pressure on school finances.
