- ➤ The Crones, an all-female band from Northeast Ohio, will perform 1980s covers as they open for the Fleetwood Mac tribute Silver Springs on May 30 at Celestia Theater (151 Main St.) in Wadsworth, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and tickets costing $25. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Akron residents presented nine proposals to improve local housing at the 2026 Civic Assembly on Housing; the city will issue its public response in the fall and update progress by winter. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Summit Metro Parks changed its ranger department to park police with all-black uniforms — officials say the update will reduce public confusion during emergencies. The board approved the change in October 2025 and the rebrand began in January with duties remaining the same. Akron Beacon Journal

- ➤ Veteran Quentin Brown, a former Marine and CSS intern, urges veterans to use mental health and community resources as they cope with loss.
