- ➤ A series of charity events will take place in Akron and northeast Ohio next week, starting with the Run 4 Hope 5K Run & Walk at Bath Community Park on May 30, which benefits the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge. - ➤ 96-year-old Max Bowers from Munroe Falls received a long-awaited Purple Heart nearly 75 years after a 1952 injury after his granddaughter compiled records and secured the medal.
