ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 44-year-old Uhrichsville woman died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday at 8:11 p.m. on US Route 250 in Goshen Township (Tuscarawas County) when the trailer she was riding pulled suddenly and the operator lost control, and operator Keith Morris (47) suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken first to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital then by helicopter to Akron General Hospital.  Cleveland 19 News

  • Vinnie Cimino from Cordelia worked as a curb server at Swenson's Drive-In in Akron on Sunday as part of a creative promotion between the two restaurants. The promotion also introduces a limited-time menu item with pimento cheese on the Galley Boy available through June 30 — fulfilling Cimino’s longtime dream.  Cleveland.com

CRIME NEWS

  • Akron Police are investigating a case where a Lyft driver was robbed of his Honda Civic early Sunday morning near the 700 block of Garth Avenue — the driver said he picked up two males and two females before one male used a gun to force them out — and detectives later found the car abandoned on Kickapoo Avenue.  FOX 8
  • Akron police responded at about 3:42 a.m. on May 31 in Goodyear Heights after a shooting that left Ontario Bradley, a 24-year-old native, fatally wounded—officials are investigating the case.  Akron Beacon Journal

  • Elliott Carter, the 20-year-old lead singer of Akron’s pop-punk band OFF-LEASH, formed the group in sixth grade with local friends and has deep ties to the city’s music history—she balances college classes with writing new songs and working on an album while the band recently released a single.  Akron Beacon Journal
