- ➤ The City of Akron kicked off its Summer Concerts in the Park series Monday with a Bicentennial Festival – though the Hardesty Park concert was rained out – and the free series will run through Aug. 14 offering live music, yard games, face painting and food at several parks. News 5 Cleveland

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Akron police said four homes and one vehicle were hit by gunfire over the weekend—one bullet hit a resident’s mattress and another struck a bedroom wall—and investigators are looking into the case. FOX 8
- ➤ Akron Police responded just after 1 a.m. Saturday on Bee Bee Circle and found a woman assaulted and two men stabbed; the younger man—reported as the suspect’s roommate—later died at a local hospital while 21-year-old Antoine Pixley is in custody on murder charges and his mother and stepfather survived the attack. iHeartMedia
