- ➤ On June 11th, around 400 residents gathered peacefully at Highland Square in Akron to protest ICE actions and show support for demonstrators in Los Angeles—local organizers and speakers called on politicians to protect immigrant families. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Three Goodyear blimps—Wingfoot One, Wingfoot Two, and Wingfoot Three—flew over Akron on June 3 during Mayor Shammas Malik’s State of the City address to mark the 100th anniversary of the first Goodyear blimp flight in 1925. They were seen above Canal Park, Lock 3, and Summit Lake while a party at the Wingfoot Lake Airship Hangar featured cake, a DJ, and local mascots. Akron.com
