- ➤ A suspect was arrested in Tallmadge after confessing over a 911 call (11:13 a.m. on Sunday) to shoot their father, police said, as officers responded to the 500 block of Cynthia Lane, provided first aid and transported the victim to Akron City Hospital (where he was pronounced dead). WKYC
- ➤ One person died after a shooting on the 500 block of Cynthia Lane in Akron's Tallmadge suburb Sunday morning, police said—officers reported that a caller admitted to shooting their father and the suspect was taken into custody while the victim was rushed to Akron City Hospital and later pronounced dead. Market St. in University Park remains in ruins after a 2018 fire—its future hangs in the balance as the Akron Vacant Buildings Board has granted local developer Tony Troppe a 90-day period to register the property, fix tax issues and secure the building.
