- ➤ On this sunny day at Mud Run Golf Course & Driving Range, over 300 local kids joined officers for the 8th Annual Putting with Police event—children rotated through golf stations, enjoyed treats and toured police vehicles from 10 agencies. Hosted by First Tee Greater Akron in partnership with the City, the event also received more than $10,000 in support from a PGA Tour Champions charity to help kids learn and build trust with law enforcement. - ➤ Akron is hosting the All-American Soap Box Derby this week—festivities include an annual parade of homemade soap box cars—and local residents will watch the event unfold as it continues throughout the week. WKYC
