- ➤ A 39-year-old Uber driver was hospitalized after being shot six times while transporting two male passengers in Goodyear Heights on July 17, and Akron police are investigating the shooting as the two suspects fled on foot—no arrests have been made. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ Akron police are investigating a shooting that occurred on July 7 at 3 a.m. at the Mason Community Learning Center parking lot on East Exchange Street where five people were shot and at least 10 were injured when cars hit a fleeing crowd—officials are asking the public for any tips to identify persons of interest.
