- ➤ Summit FM in Akron will lose about 10% of its operating budget after federal grant cuts affect NPR & PBS programming, while local volunteers and supporters work to keep the live music going. - ➤ A Springfield Township man was arrested for allegedly threatening a witness in an Aurora burglary case and a search of his home recovered prohibited weapons, including a loaded 9mm handgun, a .45-caliber handgun, an AR-15 style rifle and loaded ammunition (he faces charges for intimidating a crime victim and violating a protection order). - ➤ Family, friends and residents attended the 45th annual Akron African American Festival at Lock 3 on July 18 — the free event showcased local vendors, food trucks and community organizations under the theme 'Eban' for love, safety and security.
