- ➤ Akron police released new surveillance photos on Thursday showing persons of interest after a violent incident in early July at Mason Community Learning Center parking lot where gunfire and vehicle-related chaos injured five by bullets and ten by cars. FOX 8

- ➤ Green Local Schools has advanced projects as demolition paved the way for upgrades at Green Intermediate School and new constructions at the primary, elementary, and middle schools in time for the 2025-26 school year—ribbon-cutting events for the elementary and middle schools are set for Aug.21 and Aug.22. - ➤ At a meeting on Aug. 4, Lakemore Village Council approved tighter fertilizer rules near waterways to protect Springfield Lake—these rules ban applications within 20 feet of water unless a proper buffer or spreader device is used. The council will hold a public hearing on Aug. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building to discuss a rezoning plan for a planned 250-unit residential development and approved various budget increases for local funds.
