- ➤ David Bellomy, known as the Goodyear Heights Rapist who sexually assaulted women in Akron neighborhoods between 1985 and 1995, is up for parole consideration after serving 30 years in prison—his parole hearing will be held in September. News 5 Cleveland

- ➤ ODOT finished the $161 million Akron Beltway project after four years of work, so motorists can now drive on the road despite some bridge painting still to complete.
