- ➤ Police said a double shooting near Barbara and Virginia avenues at Wilbeth Arlington Homes happened at 1 p.m. Monday after a social media feud turned violent — two young men in their 20s were shot and taken to the hospital as local parents expressed fear. News 5 Cleveland
- ➤ Two aggravated burglars broke into an Akron woman's home on August 18 and woke her at gunpoint at 3 a.m.—detectives urge anyone with information to call 911 immediately. Cleveland 19 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Sept. 15, the ramp from Glenwood Avenue to state Route 8 south will close through late November for a bridge replacement project in Akron — ODOT said drivers should follow the detour via Glenwood Avenue, North Howard Street, and Tallmadge Avenue. Route 8 northbound and southbound will face lane and ramp restrictions between Glenwood Avenue and Perkins Street, and the project will finish in summer. Akron Beacon Journal
