  • Jon Batiste led a nearly sold-out show at Akron Civic Theatre on Sunday night with a two-hour performance that mixed gospel, funk, and jazz into a spiritual revival. ECONOMY NEWS

  • GasBuddy data shows gas in Akron fell 12 cents to $2.85 per gallon — Cleveland saw a 1-cent drop to $2.94 per gallon. The national average increased 2.5 cents to $3.00 per gallon as a Midwest refinery fire pushed up wholesale prices, though experts expect relief in the weeks ahead.  WKYC

  • On Oct. 27, Summit County Council approved $250K in emergency funding to support the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. The grant will help families at risk of losing SNAP benefits and assist over 77,000 residents facing food insecurity—an action taken in response to the federal shutdown.  Akron Beacon Journal

  • USA Today Network Ohio released its final high school football Super 25 poll today, naming five Akron-area teams in the top 25 as the OHSAA playoffs approach.   • The Browns lost 32-13 to the Patriots in New England, and critics said that poor performance by the wide receivers contributed to the defeat.
