GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, Summit County gave a $250,000 grant to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank to help feed 77,000 residents who rely on SNAP benefits—funds that will not be distributed on November 1 due to a government shutdown. County Executive Ilene Shapiro urged all 31 communities to help as food banks may not have enough resources if the shutdown continues. WKYC
- ➤ City officials in Akron said tests now show the water supply is back to normal after a July rise in haloacetic acid levels — recent checks recorded the best results in five years following changes by the Akron Water Supply Bureau.
