- ➤ Walmart closed on Thanksgiving (November 27) but reopened at 6 a.m. on November 28 for Black Friday deals that run in-store and online through November 30, with Cyber Monday sales set to begin online on Dec. 1. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, November 28, Akron-area teams Walsh Jesuit and CVCA played in separate state semifinal football games — Walsh Jesuit in Division II and CVCA in Division III — to earn a chance to advance. The winners will meet in championship games scheduled Dec. 4-6 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton — a move that sets their path toward the state title. Akron Beacon Journal
- ➤ The Akron Zips men's basketball team finished second at Paradise Jam after wins over Iona and Evansville and a close loss to Yale, and they will play Milwaukee at 7 p.m. today at Rhodes Arena.
