Good morning, Akron.

Lock 3 Park's $17 million renovation has made it a daily destination for residents, with new pathways, seating, and landscaping inviting people downtown (one year after it reopened).

Local leaders and business owners say the park boosts downtown activity and plan to host more festivals and events to draw additional visitors (with expectations for higher attendance in upcoming seasons).

Northeast Ohio residents recalled memories from past decades as one shared the 1950 Thanksgiving blizzard that buried streets with 25 inches of snow—while others remembered playing video games in the 1980s and exploring dumps in their youth.

On November 29, the Akron men's basketball team defeated Milwaukee 105—81 on their home court to extend a streak of high-scoring games and 20 straight wins.

Amani Lyles led with a career-high 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists as the Zips shot 65% from the floor with seven players scoring in double figures.

Today, the 14th seeded Akron Zips host No. 15 Duke at 4 p.m. in the NCAA men's soccer tournament— the winner will advance to face the victor of the Bryant and Saint Louis game in the elite eight.
