- ➤ City officials paused plans to demolish the Firestone Plant after a state office required saving its 106-year-old clock tower. Progress Through Preservation of Greater Akron will lead a Feb. 5 discussion at Corrigan Hall (17 S. Maple St.), while city meetings run from Feb. 4 to Feb. 12 at Firestone Park Community Center. - ➤ Say My Child’s Name is raising funds to build a memorial for children and grieving parents at Adell Durbin Park in Stow. - ➤ GasBuddy data released Monday shows that gas prices in Akron dropped 19.2 cents to $2.68 per gallon while Cleveland prices fell 11.8 cents to $2.76 — the national average changed only slightly. WKYC
