- ➤ A 49-year-old Barberton man cut the gas line at his home on 15th Street Northwest and threatened to ignite it on Tuesday evening—leading to an hours-long SWAT standoff, the evacuation of nearby homes, a technical gas shutdown and his arrest after treatment for medical issues. - ➤ Jon Tae Von Angelo Nelson, 30, was arrested on Wednesday in Akron after he allegedly fired at police during a traffic stop—U.S. marshals charged him with assault on a police officer and weapons violations. Cleveland.com

- ➤ More than 1,800 Akron Public Schools 5th graders participated in an interactive performance at the Akron Civic Theatre on March 19th, playing recorders with the Akron Symphony Orchestra as part of the Link Up program by Carnegie Hall. - ➤ Fifth grader M’Kenzie Young won The Amazing Shake competition—a pilot program by Akron Schools teaching essential professional skills.
