- ➤ Debbie Miller, an Akron resident, finished her mission to pick up one million pieces of trash after starting in February 2023 when her dog was injured by broken glass. She collected 1,426 pieces of broken glass (along with needles, nails, bolts, screws, a dozen knives and even a gun) and was praised by Mayor Shammas Malik. Cleveland 19 News
- ➤ Council Member Phil Lombardo hosted a luncheon at Dontino’s on East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue this past Saturday to honor 10 North Hill elders who are centenarians and nonagenarians—collectively sharing 987 years of life experience. - ➤ Paul Tazewell—an Akron native and Buchtel High School graduate—won the Tony Award for Best Costume Design in a Musical for 'Death Becomes Her' on Sunday following his Oscar win months earlier, and he became only the second person in history to earn both awards in the same calendar year. WKYC
