- ➤ Rescuers plan to resume the search today for a man and a 5-year-old child after their kayak capsized near the Sheraton Suites on Saturday evening; the Akron Fire Department Dive Team suspended efforts Saturday night due to poor visibility (fast-moving water from recent storms). - ➤ The 'Beyond the Water' art exhibit opened March 19 at Stewart’s Caring Place in Fairlawn and will run until July 18 — it displays 63 works by 31 Asheville artists impacted by Hurricane Helene — with all sales proceeds returned to the artists to help rebuild their art community. Mac and Allyse Love of ART x LOVE in Akron led the project to support the artists and brighten the center’s halls for visitors. Akron Beacon Journal
