Success there usually comes with a celebratory email from the principal, or maybe an ice cream social. This year, it came with a parade. The school draws students from throughout Akron Public Schools and neighboring districts, and they earn University of Akron college credits while still in high school.
“Every child deserves the opportunity to achieve greatness — and you are our greatness.”
- Crowd at Lock 3: an estimated 150 family and community supporters
- Honors: accolades and proclamations from the city, Statehouse and Congress
- Speakers: Mayor Shammas Malik and board president Barbara Sykes
